Can You Verify?

The N Square Innovators Network is a cross-sector group brainstorming and prototyping creative approaches to nuclear weapons threat. The Network is based on the idea that bringing new voices, ideas, and resources into the nuclear threat field will foster greater awareness and ingenuity. 

In 2018 the inaugural cohort met at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) for the N Square Innovation Summit, where a range of projects were showcased at Signals from the Future: Creative approaches for addressing nuclear risk. The work exhibited at the Summit was a collaboration between designers and nuclear experts in fields related to satellite imagery, nuclear physics, energy strategy, journalism, policymaking, and security research.

Can You Verify? is a competition that invites artists and designers to graphically interpret explanations by nuclear experts about specific verification procedures and techniques. Resulting posters and public exhibitions visualize and provoke more inclusive conversation about our collective safety and security.
